On behalf of the Department of Athletics, I’d like to welcome you to the SUNY Polytechnic Institute! The services of our athletic trainers on staff are available to all visiting teams to the campus during the season. Our Athletic Training Suite is open up to two hours before the start of your game. In the event that there is another scheduled game or contest preceding your event, our athletic training services can be given on the sideline of the current contest taking place. Our Athletic Training Suite will be open up to approximately 30 minutes after your scheduled event has concluded, to better assist you with any post-game services and needs (stretching, icing, evaluating, etc.).

  • As per the guidelines of the NEAC (North Eastern Athletic Conference) Athletic Training Operating Codes, our treatments for visiting student-athletes will be confined to taping, wrapping, moist heating packs, and/or icing.
  • A certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) will be available for coverage during all of our home contests.
  • Water, ice, cups and/or water bottles will be provided by our athletic training staff.
  • Emergency equipment (Spine boards, AED’s, splints, crutches, etc.) will also be provided.

Please send with your team a well-stocked medical kit so we can meet your team’s needs accordingly. I also would like to request that your team has with them their school insurance policies, as well as their personal medical history information. Should your team or any of your student-athletes in particular require a significant amount of services, an email or phone call in advance would be greatly appreciated.

In the event a significant injury happens while your team is visiting, our athletic training staff will contact your athletic training staff to make them aware of the injury at hand and the plan taken to treat that injury. We will also email you a detailed injury report consisting of how it happened, the clinical findings associated, as well as the actions taken for treatment.

Thank you so much in advance for all of your cooperation and assistance. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or email me. Good luck within the upcoming school year, and again, welcome to SUNY Poly!
