Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
Mission Statement
The State University of New York Institute of Technology Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will present a positive image of the student-athlete to the entire college, including professors, administrators and other students. The SUNYIT SAAC will work to ensure equal opportunity and success for all student-athletes, both academically and athletically, and inspire unity, teamwork and school pride throughout the campus community.
Purpose
- To represent their teammates and convey any concerns or issues that are of importance.
- A venue that provides open communication amongst themselves and with the coordinator.
- A venue where student-athletes voices are heard.
- A forum where issues and concerns are portrayed and relayed to the athletic administration.
- To support fellow athletes in competition.
- To work with the C.A.T.S. program in developing lectures and community service projects.
Role
The S.A.A.C. will operate within the athletic department under the advisement of a SUNYIT staff member. The views of its members will convey those of all SUNYIT student-athletes.
Representation
Each varsity sport will have two representatives on the committee. If someone can not make it to a meeting they will find someone from their team to replace them for that meeting. If anyone is interested in joining the S.A.A.C, please contact Sue Brumm at 792-7521.
