Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

2014-15

Mission Statement

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) is made up of representatives from each of the varsity teams at SUNY Poly.  Our goal is to provide student-athletes a unified voice in communications among the student-athletes, coaches, and athletic administrators when addressing issues designed to improve the student-athlete experience.  S.A.A.C. also seeks to promote growth and education through sports participation, provide feedback and insight into athletic department issues, build a sense of community within the athletic program, organize community service efforts, serve as a vehicle for student-athlete representation on other campus-wide committees and promote a positive student-athlete image on campus.

Role

The S.A.A.C. will operate within the athletic department under the advisement of a SUNY Poly staff member. The views of its members will convey those of all SUNY Poly student-athletes.

Representation

Each varsity sport will have two representatives on the committee. If someone can not make it to a meeting they will find someone from their team to replace them for that meeting. If anyone is interested in joining the S.A.A.C, please contact Erin Schurr at (315)792-7834.
