Wildcat OverviewSUNYIT is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA Division III), the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC), the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) and the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). SUNYIT made a successful transition from the SUNYAC to the NEAC during the 2008-09 academic year. Member schools of the NEAC currently includes Cazenovia College (Cazenovia, NY), the College of Saint Elizabeth (Morristown, NJ), Keuka College (Keuka, NY), Morrisville State College (Morrisville, NY), Penn State University - Abington (Abington, PA), Penn State University - Berks (Reading, PA), Penn State University - Harrisburg (Middletown, PA), SUNY Cobleskill (Cobleskill, NY), Wells College (Aurora, NY) and Wilson College (Chambersburg, PA). Associate members include the University of Dallas (Irving, TX), Medaille College (Buffalo, NY), SUNY Oneonta (Oneonta, NY) and Rutgers - Camden (Camden, NJ). Beginning in the 2010-11 year, Gallaudet University of Washington, D.C., will join the conference as a full member. The current roster of SUNYIT sports includes baseball, menÕs and womenÕs basketball, menÕs and womenÕs bowling, menÕs and womenÕs cross country, menÕs golf, menÕs and womenÕs soccer, softball, menÕs and womenÕs swimming and menÕs and womenÕs volleyball. Additionally, menÕs and womenÕs lacrosse teams will be added in the near future. The college is currently constructing a $20 million field house and lighted turf field, which is slated for completion during the spring of 2011. The field house will be the new home for the Wildcat athletic programs and the campus intramural and recreation programs and will feature a state-of-the-art fitness center, two full-sized basketball courts and four volleyball courts, indoor practice facilities for all Wildcat teams, a running track, an expansive training room, team rooms, and offices for the athletics departmentÕs administrative staff and coaches. With seating for 3,500, the field house will also accommodate commencement and other large events. Additionally, a new baseball field and improvements to the existing softball field are also included in the construction project.
