MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The season did not end quite as planned for the SUNY Poly men’s basketball team, but what a ride it was. This season was filled with ups and downs for the Wildcats, none higher than the Wildcats nine game winning streak that got them to the NEAC Championship Game. The Wildcats lost to Morrisville 91-73 in Sunday’s Championship game, but the ‘Cats represented themselves and SUNY Poly with tremendous heart and hard work to end their season. SUNY Poly ends their season with a 15-13 overall record. They went 10-6 In NEAC play.
MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team took down Lancaster Bible in the NEAC Semi-final game on Saturday. The Wildcats and the Chargers battled hard for a full 40 minutes. The lead changed hands five times in the game. A slight edge down the stretch for the Wildcats was ultimately what sealed the deal, giving the Wildcats their first shot at a Conference Championship since the 2009-10 season when the Wildcats made it to the sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
MORRISVILLE, N.Y.- The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team will play their North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) semifinal playoff game against Lancaster Bible on Saturday, February 23rd at 4:00 PM at Morrisville State. The Wildcats are coming off a big quarterfinal win over SUNY Cobleskill on Tuesday. They defeated the Fighting Tigers 72-51 at home.
Marcy, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team took care of business on Tuesday night, earning a convincing 21 point win over Cobleskill in the NEAC Quarterfinal. The Wildcats worked their way to a narrow lead at the half, but caught fire in the second half extending their lead thanks to some solid shooting and tenacious defense.

Aurora, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team ended their regular season with a big North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win at Wells. The ‘Cats were in control for the whole first half. The Express came out hot in the second half building up a 9-point lead but in the end, it would not be enough to stop SUNY Poly as they came back and won the game by a final score of 69-55.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team extended their winning streak to five games with a big senior day win against St. Elizabeth. This win gives the Wildcats 11 on the year. The Wildcats and Eagles started the game out fighting back and forth for the lead. The Wildcats kicked it into gear midway through the first half never looked back. The final score of the game was 96-75.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team beat Penn St. Abington on Saturday at home 76-60, securing their seventh North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win of the season. The Wildcats got out to a solid start, taking an eight point lead into the locker room at the half. They would double their lead in the second half to secure the win, improving to 10-12 on the season.
READING, PA. - The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team stayed hot on Saturday with a big North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win at Penn State Berks 91-65. The SUNY Poly win gives them six in the NEAC and has them at 6-6 in conference play. In the first half the Wildcats built a big lead and never looked back. They lead by as many as 24 points.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team earned their eighth win of the season on Wednesday 75-68 over Keuka College. The win is the Wildcats fifth in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play and has them sitting in third place in the NEAC North Division. The Wildcats built a big 11 point lead in the first quarter and held it for the duration.
MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team lost to Morrisville on Wednesday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game. The final score of the game was 85-67 in favor of the Mustangs. The Wildcats are now 3-6 in NEAC play this season.
CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team beat Cazenovia on Friday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game. The ‘Cats played a great first half, holding Cazenovia to under 30% shooting, allowing just 27 points. The Wildcats would emerge from the first with a 14 point lead. The defense held strong again in the second to seal the deal. The final score was 70-56.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team earned a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) north division win on Wednesday night 84-65 over Wells College. The Wildcats took a 14 point lead in the first half thanks to a hot start by Josh Gregory (Whitesboro, N.Y.). The kept their foot on the gas in the second, growing their lead to a high point of 21 points late in the second half.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's and women's basketball games that were originally scheduled for Saturday, January 19th have been rescheduled due to an expected winter storm. The games will now be played on Friday, January 18th. The women will play at 5:00 PM and the men will play at 7:00 PM. The games will still be played at Cazenovia College. KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men's basketball team lost to Keuka on Wednesday in NEAC play. The Wildcats had the lead through 20 minutes thanks to some sharp shooting by Redell Freeman (Rochester, N.Y.) who knocked down seven three-pointers in the first half. The Wolves would heat up in the second half narrowly outlasting the Wildcats down the stretch to earn the 72-69 win. The Wildcats are now 0-4 in NEAC Play.
FT. LAUDERDALE, FLA. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team traveled to sunny Florida to compete at the Tripp Sports Cruzin’ Classic for the second time in three seasons. The Wildcats took on Simpson on Thursday, losing the game 66-84, and Wartburg on Friday, losing 66-81. The Wildcats are now 2-9 on the season.
COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team suffered another heartbreaking loss in double overtime on Tuesday. This time the Wildcats fell to Cobleskill 67-63. The Wildcats are now 0-3 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. The game as even a match up as there could be with the halftime score, regulation score and first overtime score being all knotted up.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team lost a heartbreaker at the Campus Center Gym on Saturday in a hard-fought 2OT game against North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) rival Morrisville State. The game came down to a last second pair of free throws with just .8 seconds left in the second overtime period. Lamel Faison was the man on the line with the game on the line. He drained both putting the Mustangs up by two. The Wildcats put up a last ditch effort shot to tie the game but it fell short to give Morrisville the 91-89 win.
UTICA, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team lost on the road to Utica College on Tuesday night 83-94. The Wildcats shot better than the Pioneers from the field in the game (55.6% to 50.9%) but turned the ball over more, had less rebounds, and shot worse from the free throw line (59.3% to 73%). The loss is their second of the season.
OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Wildcat men’s basketball team lost in the Championship game of the Max Ziel Tournament on Saturday to host Oswego State. The Wildcats had a tough first half and were outscored by the Lakers by 20 points. The deficit that was set in the first was too much to overcome, and Oswego’s high powered offense kept scoring leading to a 93-65 final score.
OSWEGO, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team opened up their season with a big win on Friday at the 2018 Men’s Basketball Max Ziel Tournament hosted by SUNY Oswego. In the opening round of the tournament, the Wildcats matched up with SUNY Purchase. The Wildcats won the game handily 76-63 to start their 2018-19 season 1-0.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Athletics Department has released the 2018 schedule for the Wildcat men’s basketball team. The Wildcats are scheduled to play 25 regular season games this season; nine home games and 16 games on the road. SUNY Poly will open play on Friday, November 16th against SUNY Purchase in the Oswego Tip-Off Tournament. The Wildcats will play their first home game against NEAC rival Cazenovia on Wednesday, November 28th.
MARCY, N.Y. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the 2018 NABC Coaches’ Division III All-District teams and coaches, recognizing the best men’s collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division, selected by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division III. SUNY Poly’s Kevin Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named to the All-District East First Team after a phenomenal senior season in 2018.
GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced the NEAC All-Conference selections and Individual award winners for the 2017-18 men’s basketball season. The Wildcats were well represented, garnering one individual award and two NEAC All-Conference first team selections.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team (19-7) won their NEAC quarterfinal game on Tuesday night 67-57 over the Keuka College Wolves (11-13). The Wildcats and the Wolves played a tight first half, with the Wildcats holding a one-point lead at the break. SUNY Poly would turn up the intensity, pushing their lead to a game high 13 points with nine minutes to go. Keuka did not go down easy, bringing the game back within four points with under a minute to go. Free-throws down the stretch sealed the win for the Wildcats who went six for six from the charity stripe in the last minute of the game.
WILLIAMSPORT, PA. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team (18-7, 14-2 NEAC) wrapped up the 2018 regular season with a 67-61 road win over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent Penn College (3-22, 2-14 NEAC). The Wildcats took an eight-point lead in the first half and held on to that lead for the remainder of the game.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team (16-7, 12-2 NEAC) celebrated Senior Day on Sunday with a win over Penn College (3-20, 2-12 NEAC) in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. The two teams played a tight game in the first half with SUNY Poly holding a one-point lead at the halftime break. The Wildcats would pull ahead in the second half, thanks in large part to better defensive play to earn the 87-72 win.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s and women’s basketball games originally scheduled for Wednesday, February 7th have been pushed back to Thursday, February 8th due to expected inclement weather. The games will still be played at Morrisville State and will tip-off at their original times of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
