COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team suffered another heartbreaking loss in double overtime on Tuesday. This time the Wildcats fell to Cobleskill 67-63. The Wildcats are now 0-3 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. The game as even a match up as there could be with the halftime score, regulation score and first overtime score being all knotted up.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team lost a heartbreaker at the Campus Center Gym on Saturday in a hard-fought 2OT game against North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) rival Morrisville State. The game came down to a last second pair of free throws with just .8 seconds left in the second overtime period. Lamel Faison was the man on the line with the game on the line. He drained both putting the Mustangs up by two. The Wildcats put up a last ditch effort shot to tie the game but it fell short to give Morrisville the 91-89 win.
UTICA, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team lost on the road to Utica College on Tuesday night 83-94. The Wildcats shot better than the Pioneers from the field in the game (55.6% to 50.9%) but turned the ball over more, had less rebounds, and shot worse from the free throw line (59.3% to 73%). The loss is their second of the season.
OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Wildcat men’s basketball team lost in the Championship game of the Max Ziel Tournament on Saturday to host Oswego State. The Wildcats had a tough first half and were outscored by the Lakers by 20 points. The deficit that was set in the first was too much to overcome, and Oswego’s high powered offense kept scoring leading to a 93-65 final score.
OSWEGO, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team opened up their season with a big win on Friday at the 2018 Men’s Basketball Max Ziel Tournament hosted by SUNY Oswego. In the opening round of the tournament, the Wildcats matched up with SUNY Purchase. The Wildcats won the game handily 76-63 to start their 2018-19 season 1-0.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Athletics Department has released the 2018 schedule for the Wildcat men’s basketball team. The Wildcats are scheduled to play 25 regular season games this season; nine home games and 16 games on the road. SUNY Poly will open play on Friday, November 16th against SUNY Purchase in the Oswego Tip-Off Tournament. The Wildcats will play their first home game against NEAC rival Cazenovia on Wednesday, November 28th.
MARCY, N.Y. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the 2018 NABC Coaches’ Division III All-District teams and coaches, recognizing the best men’s collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division, selected by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division III. SUNY Poly’s Kevin Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named to the All-District East First Team after a phenomenal senior season in 2018.
GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced the NEAC All-Conference selections and Individual award winners for the 2017-18 men’s basketball season. The Wildcats were well represented, garnering one individual award and two NEAC All-Conference first team selections.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team (19-7) won their NEAC quarterfinal game on Tuesday night 67-57 over the Keuka College Wolves (11-13). The Wildcats and the Wolves played a tight first half, with the Wildcats holding a one-point lead at the break. SUNY Poly would turn up the intensity, pushing their lead to a game high 13 points with nine minutes to go. Keuka did not go down easy, bringing the game back within four points with under a minute to go. Free-throws down the stretch sealed the win for the Wildcats who went six for six from the charity stripe in the last minute of the game.
WILLIAMSPORT, PA. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team (18-7, 14-2 NEAC) wrapped up the 2018 regular season with a 67-61 road win over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent Penn College (3-22, 2-14 NEAC). The Wildcats took an eight-point lead in the first half and held on to that lead for the remainder of the game.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team (16-7, 12-2 NEAC) celebrated Senior Day on Sunday with a win over Penn College (3-20, 2-12 NEAC) in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. The two teams played a tight game in the first half with SUNY Poly holding a one-point lead at the halftime break. The Wildcats would pull ahead in the second half, thanks in large part to better defensive play to earn the 87-72 win.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s and women’s basketball games originally scheduled for Wednesday, February 7th have been pushed back to Thursday, February 8th due to expected inclement weather. The games will still be played at Morrisville State and will tip-off at their original times of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

The Wildcats came away with a nine-point win in the game 76-67 thanks in-part to solid defensive play and a pair of 20 point scorers.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s basketball (13-6, 9-1 NEAC) team improved to 9-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) on Wednesday with a divisional win over SUNY Cobleskill (5-14, 2-9 NEAC). The Wildcats struggled a bit out of the gate, turning the ball over 12 times in the first half. The Cats’ would land on their feet in the second half, cutting their turnovers in half while turning up the intensity on defense to earn a 14 point win 59-45.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team (10-5) improved to 6-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play on Wednesday with an 89-72 win over north division foe Wells College. The Wildcats never trailed in the game and led the Express by as much as 27 points.
BRYN ATHYN, PA. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team (8-5, 4-0 NEAC) narrowly held on to their undefeated North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) record on Saturday in a thrilling back-and-forth game against the Bryn Athyn Lions (6-8, 3-2 NEAC). The game had to go into overtime to decide the winner, culminating in a last second game winning three-pointer for the Wildcats.
COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The Wildcat men’s basketball earned their first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win of the second semester on Wednesday night. The Wildcats took down the Cobleskill Fighting Tigers on the road 60-52. The defensive effort was excellent by the Wildcats who held the opposition to under 60 points for the first time this season.
MARCY, N.Y. - The Wildcat men’s basketball team (6-5) lost to Alfred State (7-3) on Wednesday 76-71 after mounting a big comeback, only to lose in the closing minutes. The Wildcats trailed by as much as 17 points in the second half before bringing the score within one point with under a minute to play.
BRONX, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team (5-4) took on the Huskies of Southern Maine (1-9) in the first round of the Lehman College Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament. The Wildcats took a big lead late in the second half, but nearly gave it right back. The Wildcats ultimately earned a 68-64 win.
MARCY, N.Y. - In Sundays Wildcat men's basketball game, a last second game winning attempt against Hobart (5-2) was all that stood between the Wildcats (4-3) and their fifth win of the season. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the shot did not fall their way resulting in an 81-80 defeat.
ALBANY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team (4-3) fell to Sage (4-4) on Saturday in a game that came right down to the wire. The Wildcats were down eight at the half. The Gators expanded their lead to 15 at its peak before the Wildcats made a run. The game came down to a last minute highly contested shot to tie the game that rattled in and out of the rim.
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team (4-1) fell to Hamilton College (7-0) in a high-scoring shootout on Wednesday night. The Wildcats played with the Continentals for a majority of the game. A few un-timely turnovers led to some big runs by Hamilton that ultimately cost the Wildcats the game. The final score was 112-96.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team earned their first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win of the season on Wednesday night over Cazenovia College 70-67. The Wildcats faced an early deficit thanks to a hot start by Cazenovia. The Wildcats closed the gap to three points at the half and took the lead late in the game to secure the win.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men’s basketball team beat Utica College on Tuesday 81-71. The Wildcats won the first half, taking a 36-49 lead into the locker room. The game was tight in the second with the two teams trading blows. A run by the Wildcats in the last six minutes of the game was the difference.
HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Wildcat men’s basketball team won their season opener on Friday over the Hilbert Hawks 99-83 in the Hilbert Tip-off Tournament. The Wildcat offense was efficient in the game shooting 62 percent from the field while holding the Hawks to 45 percent from the field.
GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2016-17 Scholar-Athlete selections. This year marks the third consecutive record-breaking year for the NEAC Scholar-Athlete Awards. A staggering 806 student-athletes in the NEAC were named scholar-athletes, surpassing last year’s mark of 787 by 19.
