BUFFALO, N.Y.- The SUNY Poly Men's Volleyball Team (8-4, 1-2 NEAC) found themselves with their backs against the wall Saturday down 2-1 to Hilbert (0-11, 0-2 NEAC) in their first match of the day. The Wildcats snuck out a 4th game win and were able to take the victory in the 5th game to seal the deal 25-18, 21-25, 22-25, 27-25, 15-8.
Junior A.J. Davids (Hilton, N.Y./ Hilton) led the SUNY Poly attack with 18 kills while recording 13 digs in the match. Nick Hagen (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) and Scott Grable (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Shenendehowa) added 11 kills each to help spread the Wildcat attack. Justin Rich (Hamburg, N.Y./ Eden) led the way on defense tallying 22 digs, while Zach Goggin (Feeding Hills, Mass./ Agawam) kept the offense running with 52 assists.
Hilbert was led by Korey Schwab who had 17 kills and Adam Heftka who tallied 15 digs in the match.
The Wildcats will complete their weekend NEAC Crossover this afternoon as they take on hosts Medaille at 4:00 pm
