READING, PA – The SUNYIT Women's Soccer season came to a close on Saturday, as the Wildcats lost their NEAC Tournament Semifinal match up with the host team, Penn St.-Berks. After dispatching the host team's sister school, Penn St.-Abington, in a thrilling game decided by a shootout on Wednesday, the Wildcats fell to Berks by a score of 4 to 0.
Sarah Conover scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the home team, while on the defensive end the Nittany Lions' did a good job of keeping Wildcat forward Dakota Hanley (Franklin, N.Y. / Franklin Central) in check. The junior was held scoreless for just the second time in her last 12 games.
Aubrey Campbell (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) put forward a valiant effort in goal for SUNYIT with 8 saves, but the 22 to 10 shot advantage for Penn St.-Berks ultimately decided the game.
SUNYIT finishes with a 10-10-1 overall record, while finishing 8-4-0 in the NEAC.
