SUNYIT Women’s Cross Country Well Represented at Home Meet

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Women's Cross Country team started what second-year coach Erynn Anderson hopes to be a new era in the program's history at SUNYIT.

"I'm so proud of our girls," said Anderson, "today was about strong finishes, consistent work, and everybody finishing with a smile on their face."

Leading the way for the Wildcats was first-year Carli Rogan (Colonie, N.Y. / Colonie Central). Rogan placed 72nd overall, but earned a scoring place of 59th with a time of 26:01.8 on the 5k Women's Run.

Rounding out the scoring five for SUNYIT were Lyndsey Brognano (Rome, N.Y. / RFA) in 72nd place (scoring place), Thalia Irizarry (Manhasset, N.Y. / Manhasset) in 86th, Alyssa Aiello (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Whitesboro) in 87th, and Caitlin Cottell (Eatontown, N.J. / Red Bank Catholic) completed the Wildcat triumvirate by scoring in 88th place.

Cassidy Thompson (Weedsport, N.Y. / Weedsport) and Bianca Brown (Utica, N.Y. / Utica-Proctor) weren't far behind their teammates as they satisfied their coach's mandate to finish strong.
