CC: 2019 SUNY Poly Cross Country Schedule Released.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Athletic Department has released the finalized schedule for the 2019 cross country season. The schedule is comprised of seven regular-season meet dates, beginning on August 31st with three post-season races in November.

The Wildcats will open up their season at home on August 31st when they will host the 13th Annual Wildcat Short Course Invitational. SUNY Poly will also host the 7th Annual SUNY Poly Wildcat Invitational on September 21st.

Notable meet dates this season include the Cobleskill Invitational on September 7th, The Hamilton College Invitational, and the Mike Woods Invitational (hosted by SUNY Geneseo). The race at Cobleskill early in the season will give the Wildcats some great experience running at Cobleskill State; the host of the 2019 NEAC Championship on November 2nd.

A new addition to the schedule this season is the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday, October 19th. The meet is hosted by Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio and will feature four races consisting of teams from multiple NCAA regions.

This season, the SUNY Poly women's cross country team will be defending their first-ever NEAC Championship win in 2018. The Wildcats will return reigning runner and rookie of the year Lauren Phetteplace (Cortland, N.Y.) and NEAC All-Conference Third Team runner Molly Burdick (Johnson City, N.Y.).

The SUNY Poly men's cross country team will be looking to get back to the top of the NEAC podium after falling just short of their fifth consecutive NEAC Championship in 2018. The Wildcats will be returning a solid group of runners from last year including top-placing runner Noah Valvo (Town of Wright, N.Y.) and NEAC Second-Team runners Jonathon Miller (Oneonta, N.Y.) and Garrett Jones (New Hartford, N.Y.).
